Branchville and Lockett Schools were completed as combined (elementary and high) schools in 1936. The schools were once segregated. Lockett served as the black elementary and high school. Branchville served as the white elementary and high school. Segregation ended in 1970. At that time, Lockett was changed to Branchville Elementary School and housed grades k-7. Branchville became the high school for grades 8-12. Branchville now has a new facility that houses pre-K through 12th grades. The new facility is located on Dorange Road and opened in the fall of 1999. Athletic History Branchville also has a very interesting athletic history. - Conference/Region Tournament Champs: 1978, 1980, 1984, 1988-91 and 1993-99.
- Region/Tournament Runners-Up: 1979, 1981-83, 1985-87 and 1992.
